The idea for Search Glastonbury originated with the Glaston Group - www.glastongroup.org - a group of local residents interested in exploring how services offered to visitors to Glastonbury might be improved. They felt that one of the facilities needed was more comprehensive information on what was going on in Glastonbury. A good starting point seemed to be a search engine dedicated to the many web sites based in Glastonbury, England.

As a result this site was commissioned. The site has been being created by Richard Harrison and Kelvin McNulty of Juice - www.juiceart.co.uk - and funded by private donors and Business Link – www.businesslinksomerset.co.uk

The site is managed by Glastonbury Online Ltd - www.glastonbury.co.uk - .which is a not for profit company assisting the development of internet use amongst Glastonbury businesses, community groups & people. Any profits generated are put back into supporting the development of community webpages/websites for local organisations.

Glastonbury Online was formed out of a loose collection of local webworkers and eventually became a Company Limited by Guarantee. We are proud of our good relationships with other webworkers in the town and continue to promote co-operation rather than competition in our community.
